looking for more people to help test my app Back2Back. it is an ai-based DJ app, or deep research for music discovery. you create a DJ persona (or use one of my built in personas), and the DJ will make selections, match to Apple Music, then validate the selection fits.

i posted about it a while back when I first put it in beta. since then I have added many features:
• now runs on macOS and iOS
• new chat feature to talk to the DJ, and influence future selections
would love all feedback!

:spiralcalendarpad:Friday and Saturday December 12th and 13th
:roundpushpin: The Howland Cultural Center in Beacon
:admission
tickets:Tickets below

Show description:
“If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him.”
— (Zen koan)

In this darkly comic solo performance, Eli dismantles the modern obsession with expertise, belonging, and the seductive promise of spiritual authority. Part confessional memoir, part satire of wellness culture, “Kill the Buddha” traces her path from eager yoga student to viral yoga entrepreneur to self-proclaimed “belonging expert”—and the unraveling that exposes the gap between performing wisdom and living authentically. Framed around a disastrously honest podcast interview, the show ricochets between past and present to confront the manipulative yoga teacher who exploited her search for meaning, the media machine that commodified her irreverence, and her own complicity in turning pain into performance.

Through a rotating cast of characters—from vapid hosts to desperate seekers—Walker skewers the ways we surrender our agency to anyone claiming to have “the way.” With raw honesty and biting humor, "Kill the Buddha" asks what it really takes to stop performing enlightenment and start living the truth beneath it all.

More about me (in case we haven’t met yet!):
I'm a speaker, author, performance artist, and social wellness entrepreneur whose career bridges interactive storytelling, mindfulness practices and global impact. With a BFA in Acting from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with an emphasis on community-based theater, I'm the founder of the internationally acclaimed brand Drunk Yoga®—featured in GLAMOUR, Women's Health, Forbes, ELLE, Refinery29 and The LA Times, and now The Uplift Center, my social wellness school and consultancy.

While earning my BFA, I performed off-Broadway at Lincoln Center, LaMaMa, and the Lucille Lortel Theatre, working with Tony Award-winning directors such as Liz Swados and Blake Bradford, and I’ve appeared in TV, film, and commercials for DiscoveryID, Revlon, Microsoft, Honda, and Xfinity. Previous NYC one-woman shows include STEPS, COUNTING, and The Quarter-Life Crisis Monologues.

Through all my work, I invite audiences to hold two truths: everything we see is real, but so is everything we don't. In that paradox—(in the space between self and other)—belonging is sparked.

can anyone suggest some help on cleaning up my SPF, DKIM and DMARC records as part of my DNS? I'm using cPanel e-mail hosting, but triggering e-mails via my Hubspot and Mailchimp accounts. Apparently GoDaddy servers are known for sharing mail server, so that's also an impetus for routing my business e-mail through a Mailgun, SendGrid, or Amazon SES. Would appreciate some professional help here, to fix these issues once and for all. Any e-mail I sent to a hotmail account, for example, is not getting sent. Stuff like that. Hi! I am wondering if anyone can recommend a school for my 11 year old son. He does not do well with the rigor of public school, but needs more structure than he has been getting at Zena Democratic School. He hopes to return there, but is looking for a place where he can have a better / wider support system in place to help him correct his behavior, specifically how he treats others (he hasn’t been kind, and it’s a pattern). Ideally looking for places where they have similar respect for student driven education, but not a dealbreaker.

Looking for freelance photographer recommendations — Catskills / Hudson Valley area
Hey all — I'm searching for local photographers with strong documentary/photojournalistic portfolios. We need photos for an education organization that feels natural, candid, and human — real people in real moments of learning, working, and connecting.

What we're looking for:
• Experience shooting in schools, workshops, or workplace environments
• Comfort with available/natural light
• Editorial eye — capturing authentic moments, not posed shots
• Warm, natural color treatment (not overly processed)
Ability to deliver high-resolution files suitable for large-format/out-of-home applications
Think: education documentary, day-in-the-life editorial, or nonprofit storytelling work. (see reference)
If you know someone whose portfolio fits this style, I'd love to see their work (Portfolio & Resume). Thanks!

Join us for our 2nd edition of “Adult Spelling Bee” at Beahive Beacon January 16th…back by popular demand! 😎:woman-tipping-hand:

Overview:

Think you can still spell "definitely" without autocorrect? Time to prove it! But this isn't your elementary school spelling bee.
Think you can still spell "definitely" without autocorrect? Time to prove it!

Join us for an evening where adults rediscover the pure joy (and terror) of standing up, spelling out loud, and potentially embarrassing themselves in the most delightful way possible.

This isn't your elementary school spelling bee — expect words that would make your 4th-grade teacher blush, vocabulary that reflects our wonderfully complicated adult lives, and plenty of good-natured heckling from the audience.

Whether you're a grammar nerd, a crossword champion, or someone who still confuses "your" and "you're" (no judgment), this event is designed for maximum fun and minimum pretension.

You can compete, or simply watch and heckle. Prizes for winners, consolation snacks for the spelling-challenged, and guaranteed laughs for everyone. BYOB (Bring Your Own Brain). Dictionaries strictly prohibited!

Hosted by author Gabe Henry and Beahive's community activator Eli Walker.

Come for the competition, stay for the community — and maybe learn how to spell "embarrass" without second-guessing yourself.

Feeling brave? Want to spell?
Just show up early and drop your name in the bag. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Open to all. $10 advance or at the door ($5 for members).

You’re invited!
In honor of International Women’s Day, we’re gathering Saturday March 7th at Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie for a full day dedicated to the whole woman. Not just the business owner. Not just the leader. The whole person.

This day was thoughtfully built by our community, for our community.

You’ll experience meaningful keynote conversations, honest and practical panels, nonprofit and community resources, and wellness sessions designed to support your energy, clarity, and sustainability.
This is not surface-level networking. It’s a room full of women who believe leadership and well-being belong in the same conversation.

Free to attend. Open to all.

If you’ve been craving a space that feels supportive, educational, and real, we would love to see you there.
RSVP here:

Spots are limited, so please reserve yours if you plan to join us.

@Law Office of Lizzette Muniz, LLC and @Divine Asset Management LLC are hosting a small women’s evening at Gigi's in Rhinebeck later this month called Spring Reset: An Intimate Evening on Money & Clarity.
In honor of Women’s Month, we wanted to create a relaxed space for women to talk about organizing and protecting their finances — from investing and estate planning to the bigger picture of legacy creation.
We’re keeping it intentionally small so there’s room for real questions and conversation.

Join the conversation

Ready to join the conversation? Enter the Slack community below.

What is Slack?

Slack is a chat platform, similar to Discord or Microsoft Teams or old-school IRC. It's meant to be used by businesses for team communication, but we're using it as a community platform. We picked Slack by popular request and it's worked out pretty well so far.

What's the difference between the Slack and the directory?

The directory allows you to showcase your work and find local creatives and professionals. The Slack is a chat platform for the community with active conversation happening all the time. They complement each other, and both are useful!

Why should I join?

Over 1,800 local creatives and professionals are in the group, connecting with each other and sharing opportunities. People are finding work, hiring locally, sharing resources, launching new projects, and generally being a community that's authentic and human rather than the opposite.

What's the vibe?

Conversation in the Slack is casual and human. There are lots of people introducing themselves, asking for recommendations, hiring people and sharing that they're ready to be hired, and announcing new events or projects. (And it's totally fine to just lurk, too!)
