Show description:
“If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him.”
— (Zen koan)
In this darkly comic solo performance, Eli dismantles the modern obsession with expertise, belonging, and the seductive promise of spiritual authority. Part confessional memoir, part satire of wellness culture, “Kill the Buddha” traces her path from eager yoga student to viral yoga entrepreneur to self-proclaimed “belonging expert”—and the unraveling that exposes the gap between performing wisdom and living authentically. Framed around a disastrously honest podcast interview, the show ricochets between past and present to confront the manipulative yoga teacher who exploited her search for meaning, the media machine that commodified her irreverence, and her own complicity in turning pain into performance.
Through a rotating cast of characters—from vapid hosts to desperate seekers—Walker skewers the ways we surrender our agency to anyone claiming to have “the way.” With raw honesty and biting humor, "Kill the Buddha" asks what it really takes to stop performing enlightenment and start living the truth beneath it all.
More about me (in case we haven’t met yet!):
I'm a speaker, author, performance artist, and social wellness entrepreneur whose career bridges interactive storytelling, mindfulness practices and global impact. With a BFA in Acting from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with an emphasis on community-based theater, I'm the founder of the internationally acclaimed brand Drunk Yoga®—featured in GLAMOUR, Women's Health, Forbes, ELLE, Refinery29 and The LA Times, and now The Uplift Center, my social wellness school and consultancy.
While earning my BFA, I performed off-Broadway at Lincoln Center, LaMaMa, and the Lucille Lortel Theatre, working with Tony Award-winning directors such as Liz Swados and Blake Bradford, and I’ve appeared in TV, film, and commercials for DiscoveryID, Revlon, Microsoft, Honda, and Xfinity. Previous NYC one-woman shows include STEPS, COUNTING, and The Quarter-Life Crisis Monologues.
Through all my work, I invite audiences to hold two truths: everything we see is real, but so is everything we don't. In that paradox—(in the space between self and other)—belonging is sparked.

Together, and with all our senses, we’ll tap into the seasonal energy of crafting in darkness: explore cheese as alchemy, art as intuition, and ritual as nourishment.
Join feature guest Pam Grossman, the Terry Gross of witches (host of The Witch Wave podcast, and author of Magic Maker), Jess Galen (Bloomy Cheese & Provisions), author and artist Frances Denny for a sensory-rich, wintry reset hosted by Sarah Epps & Sandra Dawn of Revery, a women’s network for seasonal sensual living.
Hey all — I'm searching for local photographers with strong documentary/photojournalistic portfolios. We need photos for an education organization that feels natural, candid, and human — real people in real moments of learning, working, and connecting.
What we're looking for:
• Experience shooting in schools, workshops, or workplace environments
• Comfort with available/natural light
• Editorial eye — capturing authentic moments, not posed shots
• Warm, natural color treatment (not overly processed)
• Ability to deliver high-resolution files suitable for large-format/out-of-home applications
Think: education documentary, day-in-the-life editorial, or nonprofit storytelling work. (see reference)
If you know someone whose portfolio fits this style, I'd love to see their work (Portfolio & Resume). Thanks!

Overview:
Think you can still spell "definitely" without autocorrect? Time to prove it! But this isn't your elementary school spelling bee.
Think you can still spell "definitely" without autocorrect? Time to prove it!
Join us for an evening where adults rediscover the pure joy (and terror) of standing up, spelling out loud, and potentially embarrassing themselves in the most delightful way possible.
This isn't your elementary school spelling bee — expect words that would make your 4th-grade teacher blush, vocabulary that reflects our wonderfully complicated adult lives, and plenty of good-natured heckling from the audience.
Whether you're a grammar nerd, a crossword champion, or someone who still confuses "your" and "you're" (no judgment), this event is designed for maximum fun and minimum pretension.
You can compete, or simply watch and heckle. Prizes for winners, consolation snacks for the spelling-challenged, and guaranteed laughs for everyone. BYOB (Bring Your Own Brain). Dictionaries strictly prohibited!
Hosted by author Gabe Henry and Beahive's community activator Eli Walker.
Come for the competition, stay for the community — and maybe learn how to spell "embarrass" without second-guessing yourself.
Feeling brave? Want to spell?
Just show up early and drop your name in the bag. Doors open at 6:30 PM.
Open to all. $10 advance or at the door ($5 for members).

⏰ 7:30 PM
About Wisecrack
From bullied kid to breakout comic, Edd Hedges brings his darkly hilarious true-crime story to the stage in Wisecrack, a genre-defying live comedy tour hosted by crime producer Jodi Tovay. What started as a hometown charity gig spiraled into the most terrifying night of his life, complete with a shaken small town, a murder, and a comedy set that sparked the hit true crime podcast from Tenderfoot TV and iHeartPodcasts.
Plus, it’s City Winery, so you can dine at your seat :knifefork_plate: or come early for a relaxed meal in the restaurant (Resy reservations encouraged).
If you love true crime, stand-up, or stories that blur the line between funny and frightening… this one’s for you.
