King’s Court Brewing Company is a community-focused craft brewery in downtown Poughkeepsie. Tucked into the beautifully restored 40 Cannon arts complex, the brewery operates a 7-barrel system and maintains around 20 beers on tap. Brewmaster Dan Jordan (a UC Davis Master Brewers Program grad) crafts a broad range of styles, from juicy New England IPAs and crisp kölsches to rich nitro milk stouts and sours. His beers have won multiple awards (including medals at the Great American Beer Festival for Frog’s Like Possum Imperial Red and Frog King Amber). The taproom offers indoor seating with a view of the brewhouse, a cozy back patio, and often hosts food trucks or pop-ups for bites to eat. King’s Court is dog-friendly, family-friendly, and frequently features fun events like trivia and live music – all while preserving the historic charm of the former hotel space it inhabits.
