About Garin Baker

Born and raised in New York City, Garin Baker was raised on the upper west side of Manhattan. With a strong focus of working from life his works include complex compositions to simple figure studies. His realism combined with an expressive nature shows passionate engagement with a variety of contemporary subjects including large New York cityscapes filled with bustling people to spacious rural landscapes reminiscent of the Hudson River School of Painting. He’s exhibited in several group and one person shows in New York City and the US. Baker is renowned for his large scale public art murals found in major cities in the United States and Europe. In addition offering apprenticeships to young artist, working alongside towards developing their skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the business of art. He also teaches life painting and drawing at the prestigious Art Students League in NYC.
