Caroline brings over 15 years of architectural practice and capital development expertise to Scenic Hudson. Working at the intersection of built, social and ecological networks, she leads the environmental organization's approach to built interventions. Caroline most recently completed the conversion of a long-vacant historic factory into the Northside Hub, a carbon-neutral gathering place that serves as Scenic Hudson's home, community space and park, and anchors a growing network of green infrastructure on Poughkeepsie's historically underserved north side.

Caroline works from the premise that addressing the built world is critical to the modern environmental movement. With construction and operation of buildings accounting for over 40% of global carbon emissions, the conservation, adaptive reuse, repair, and thoughtful design of buildings and other manmade structures are central to Scenic Hudson's mission in the era of climate change.

Previously, Caroline was a Senior Architect at MASS Design Group, where she managed the design team for the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Alabama - the first U.S. memorial to victims of lynching. Previous to MASS, Caroline was an architect with Thomas Phifer and Partners, Herzog & de Meuron, and Buchner Bründler Architekten in Basel, Switzerland.

Caroline holds a professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech, which included a year of study at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Originally from Austin, Texas, she lives in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with her family.
