Andrea Ekizian & George Giatzis make up the acoustic duo “ACOUSTIC RUGRIDERS” blending stellar harmonies while performing a varied mix of phenomenal and beloved Classic Rock, Soul, R&B and Motown tunes all with that great “unplugged” feel. The duo regularly plays bars, restaurants, private gatherings, and public events, including several appearances at Hops On The Hudson Modern Makers Fairs in Cold Spring. Andrea Ekizian is a dynamic performer and a prolific member of Hudson Valley musical royalty. She currently fronts her band “Andrea and the Armenian Rug Riders” where she regularly showcases not only her spectacular vocal range and electric stage presence but also her prowess on guitar, harmonica, percussion, and even lead kazoo! Throughout the years Andrea has led area bands including “Andrea and the Substitutes”, “Doc Rock” and, dating back to the early 80’s, “The Stiff Kittens.” Close your eyes during one of her shows and you’d swear that Chrissy Hynde, Janis Joplin or Linda Ronstadt was up there singing. George Giatzis has recently returned to his Hudson Valley roots after having spent 21 years in San Francisco. As a singer/guitarist he has been performing in bars, restaurants, wineries, private parties, and corporate events for over 40 years. For six years starting in 1987, George was the guitar player in local mainstay “Hey Baby Band” and holds the distinction of being the longest-tenured guitar player in the history of the group. He occasionally guests with Hey Baby to this day. Currently, George sings and plays guitar in “The Boomer Brothers Band” as well as playing solo gigs and duets with various musical friends around the valley.
