Woodstock Day School to Host Second Annual Community Field Day on July 18 Featuring Bouncy House, Scavenger Hunt, and much more! FREE for Kids 12 and Under.
WOODSTOCK, NY — Woodstock Day School invites the greater Hudson Valley community to celebrate summer with its second Annual Community Field Day on Saturday, July 18, from 12:00–3:00 p.m. on the beautiful, welcoming Woodstock Day School campus at 1430 Glasco Turnpike.
Open to all, the event will bring together WDS families, alumni, neighbors, and friends for a summer afternoon of arts and crafts, games, storytelling, seasonal treats, and community connection. Designed as a joyful celebration and extension of its Summer Adventure camp, Community Field Day welcomes guests of all ages to spend time outdoors, explore activities, see old friends, make new friends, and connect with the broader WDS community.
“Community Field Day is a chance to open our campus to friends, neighbors, alumni, and families for a relaxed summer gathering rooted in creativity, play, and connection,” said Stefan Betters, Director of Advancement. “We’re excited to welcome both familiar faces and new friends to celebrate the spirit of summer at WDS.”
Admission is offered on a sliding scale for guests ages 13 and up, and children 12 and under attend free. All tickets include access to event areas and activities, as well as WDS-provided beverages, light snacks and sweet treats. Community members of all ages are invited to join the fun at this rain-or-shine celebration!
From 12 to 3pm, kids of all ages can enjoy the bouncy house, have their face painted, go on a scavenger hunt (with prizes!), cool down with some water play and get creative with camp-themed arts and crafts. Featuring a wonder-filled summer storytime with Estrella Frankenfield, WDS Librarian and a Guinean drum and dance performance by Mamadouba “Mimo” Camara (a master Guinean dancer and drummer who spent 18 years as a lead performer with the world-renowned Les Ballets Africains) and his wife, longtime WDS preschool teacher and Summer Adventure Director, Pam Lord Camara.
Complimentary popsicles, snacks, and beverages will be provided throughout the day. Guests are encouraged to check the forecast, dress for outdoor play (including splash and messy activities), and bring sunscreen, a hat, a refillable water bottle, and a picnic lunch to enjoy on the main lawn.
