Always love meeting like-minded folks - let's connect!
@Jordan Koschei (ConnectHV) continues to draw a great crowd for these ConnectHV events, and I’m always super excited to host.
As a former jazz drummer turned marketing writer, I found a lot of common ground with many of you. I would say my biggest dream since moving here 3 years ago would be to get involved marketing, curating, or pulling together talent for local events, particularly a jazz series in Kingston. I’ve also been keen to put together a chess group.
In general, if you put on local events, you’re an event planner, an arts/music promoter, or you’re just trying to get something off the ground, I’d love to hear about it.
I’m sure you’ve seen them driving around as they’re everywhere now.
If you’re interested in their PR statement about my disclosures or want to learn more about the vulnerabilities I found in phase 1 OR want to learn how you can get a root shell on these devices (and more in the near future) check out the links in my LinkedIn post! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/gainsec_gunshot-detection-and-license-plate-reader-activity-7343714490489729024-4wOS

Do you own or know someone who would be willing to let me use their facility (I'll pay of course) for a few days this year (July/August/September 2025)? I'd prefer a location within 30 miles of Poughkeepsie/LaGrange. It doesn't need to be massive, but it should be at least 8 feet deep.
This is for a small photoshoot (no more than 5 people total, including a safety/lifeguard). Thank you so much for any leads!

Decided to ship one of my side projects last month, so LostArchiveTV is officially live on the Apple App Store: https://lostarchive.tv — TikTok for the Internet Archive. Free and open source.
So stoked! Surreal that the same place that published the hacker manifesto is publishing some of my security research. https://x.com/phrack/status/1953267089567039765?s=46&t=9xLMH8qIITwJErMC4kVvMQ

I’m interested in learning more about a model for a “time share” style apartment where multiple people can share the cost of a home while still keeping their place upstate / Or a multi-bedroom space for those that don’t need to be there full time but want access to a place in the city.
I’m reintegrating with my creative work in the city and it would be so helpful to have a bed and a shower so I don’t have to commute back and forth. However, I’m not sure I can afford to pay for both my mortgage and a $3500+/month apartment in the city 😑
If anyone has done this or is interested in exploring this, I’d love to connect and learn more!

I already have an epic DJ on the line, but I want to gauge interest so I can lock in the right venue. Drop a :jackolantern: if you’re in!
I’m working with a small founding team to launch The Discourse Project*, a new initiative to dismantle disinformation, bridging divides, and mobilizing voters toward shared purpose....attempting to rebuild America’s civic courage, basically.
We’re at a critical early stage & need help on our website. This is the first public face of the movement where we’ll engage donors, volunteers, and communities. The work is vital—it has to inspire trust immediately, be simple to use, and tell a compelling story about why this matters now more than ever. We've started it, but it needs fixing/re-adjusting by someone with a little bandwidth and better design sense.
At launch, we’re looking for someone who can volunteer their time pro bono to help us get this off the ground.
But this is not a one-off ask.
We fully expect that this role will grow into paid project work as we scale, and it’s a chance to help shape a platform designed to have real national impact.
If you—or someone you know—has strong web design or development chops and wants to contribute to something bigger than any one election or party, I’d love to connect.
Drop me a DM or reply here.
